In this post I am going to be talking about Apps and websites that will help you gain / maintain or loose weight. Apps in this area come in particularly handy as you can track how much calories you consume , burn and tells you an ideal calorie intake per day to keep you on track.

Here are my top five picks :

#1: My Fitness pal

this apps tells you your daily calorie intake based on your BMI and if you are trying to gain , maintain or loose weight. With over 5 million foods / recipies and workouts in their data base this is a good app for beginners.








#2: Sworkit lite

This is my go to app. Its very easy to use and you can customize it according to your will. this app contains 4 groups : Cardio , yoga, strength  and stretch. You can either simply select any body part you want to work on and choose from their 20  built in  workout or choose and create your own playlist. This app also provides instructions and audio cues to take you through the workout and makes it easy to follow along.





#3: Nike+ Training club
 This app is fully loaded with 100 plus workouts for diffrent ages, But the main thing I love about this app is the strength and core training where you can challange yourself from a huge varitey of workouts and from Nike trainers.







#4: sweat it with Kayla
I have recently started using this app and so far so good. Kayla is a very popular instagram fitness icon and after looking at her page I was very inspired and just had to try the app out ! I mean just look at these results :

Bodmon zaid is a pakistani youtuber but is mostly known for her kick ass workouts which bring about astonishing results In a month. You have to create an account and its a 30 day weightloss challange ( an additional 10 days are given if you have missed any workouts or days)  with a 40 minutes daily workout and 2 breaks a week. All you need for this challange is a skipping rope and motivation ( and 10 dollars duh )

Fifty shades of yellow



I dont judge people by the colour of their skin. I judge people by the colour of their teeth. For me a person's smile is usually the first thing I notice when I meet them and it can probably tell you about their hygiene level too.  In the past few years there have been tremendous inventions that give you white teeth instantly - from blue light to white strips to toothpastes -their sole purpose being to whiten teeth. I did a little research and unfortunately most of the ( Imported) whitening toothpastes contain alcohol or animal derived ingredients. 
Luckly there are some home remedies that can help you get that million dollar smile.




#1: Banana peel

Banana peels have minerals that get absorbed into the teeth giving them a great look. Applying it for the purpose of teeth whitening is easy. Simply get a ripe banana and rub the inner part of the peel on your teeth for two minutes twice each day.


#2: Baking soda and lemon juice 

you can either use these seperately or together. Just mix a small amount of lemon juice , a tea spoon of baking soda , hydrogen preoxide ( for even better results) in your with your toothpaste and either brush or leave it on for 1 and a half minute. Although using baking soda is one of the highly recommended method on how to get white teeth naturally and which has proved to be effective, it is also known to be abrasive. This makes it inappropriate for people with sensitive teeth already. 

#3: Strawberry 
There is evidence that strawberries can help whiten teeth due to containing an enzyme called malic acid and vitamin C. The astringent found in strawberries helps to remove surface stains, while vitamin C washes away plaque. Mashing a few strawberries and brushing with the mixture once or twice a week can have positive results. You could also just eat strawberries, making sure to chew really well and allowing them to do the brushing on their own.

#4:Oil pulling 

Oil pulling is an Indian remedy used primarily to enhance oral health and cleanse the body. The process is actually quite simple, harmless, and very inexpensive. Simply take one tablespoon of a pure, organic oil and swish it around in your mouth for 15-20 minutes. Move the oil around your mouth through sipping, sucking, and essentially pulling through your teeth. After rinsing, spit out the oil, thoroughly rinse your mouth out with water, and consume 2-3 glasses of water.


Lastly Coffee, tea and soda all cause serious damage to the enamel of your teeth. Whenever possible, use a straw to reduce direct exposure to teeth.

the secret to poreless skin


 I LOVE my large pores , wrinkles , brown spots and dark eye circles. Said no women ever.
These pores can cause the face to look dull and aged. Especially People with oily skin are prone to this problem, thanks to excessive sebum production. They can also lead to complications like blackheads and acne, which mark the way you look. Factors like stress, genetics and unhealthy skin care also give rise to open pores.

Here I have gathered some korean secrets and home remedies ( hands up if you broke) to help reduce and diminish pores effeciently and effectivley 

#1: egg whites 
Egg white is used to make the enlarged pores shrink because it tightens and tones the skin as well as that helps to take out any excess oil from skin. 
to make a paste take one egg white and mix it with 2 table spoons of oatmeal and 2 table spoons of lemon juice. Make an even paste, apply on the face and keep it for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water. ( For best results apply twice a week). Or you can just buy a peel off mask.

#2: Tomatoe juice 
 Tomatoes contain high level of acid and potassium, which help to reduce blemishes on face. Just apply some tomatoe juice and let it sit for about 25-30 minutes and wash it off with cold water. 



#3: Ice Ice baby ( sorry I know I am lame)
Rubbing a piece of ice or an ice cube wrapped in a cloth on the skin is one of the best and effective ways to shrink the pores. It also helps to decrease sebum production in the skin for a small amount of time.



#4 Baking soda :
 Baking soda has some antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help not in only  reducing complications like pimples and acne but it teeth whitening as well as that curing strawberry legs. All you need to do is make a paste by mixing equal parts of soda and warm water and apply the paste into the pores and massage gently for about 30 seconds using circular motion. Rinse it thoroughly using cool water. It helps remove dead skin cells, grime, and other impurities.

#5 Yougurt: 
Apply plain yogurt to the pores and leave it for about 20 minutes and then rinse it with warm water. Repeat this remedy twice a week to reduce the size of the skin pores.

  Surpringly I got a lot of positive responce on my previous post about the lazy ass workout so here I am continuing it :

first things first You didn’t gain it overnight so don’t expect to lose it overnight. However with these DIY home remedies you can speed up the process of your weightloss as well that remove all those toxins from your body.

#1: mints and lemons 
If you want to see quick and improved results you need to make lemon your bae. When life gives you lemons you dont throw them back it life , you dont use it to clear your skin and you dont use it in your vodka. You use it loose weight. Although it doesnt directly help with the weightloss It does help in the process.However, if this drink is replacing a beverage that is higher in calories, like coffee with sugar or fruit juice and that results in a calorie deficit then it can help you lose weight , so cut back on that Rooh Afzah at Iftar people. It also helps with bloating , clear skin , hydrates Your Lymph System promotes healing and in the long run does help improve weightloss particularly in the tummy area.

#2: Honey 
Honey contains all the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals that help to dissolve fats and cholesterol in the body. It not only reduces the bodyweight by mobilizing the stored fat and using it for regular activities but also reduces the risk of cardiovascular disorders and results in lowering the increase in plasma glucose levels. Its also a good substitute for sugar ( when on a diet)

#3: Olive Oil 
Olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids that reduce the bad (LDL) cholesterol to reduce your body weight and improves the HDL cholesterol. It also contains vitamin E, carotenoids and polyphenolic compounds that enhance the body’s breakdown of stored fat. Take a tablespoon or two of olive oil and consume this to get relief from the body weight , or you can simply use this by drizzling olive oil on salad dressing or marinades, pasta or cooked vegetables.
#4: Apple cider vinegar 
Apple cider vinegar contains organic acids and enzymes that increase the metabolism rate which in turn speed up the process of burning fat in your body. It reduces the water retention and makes you feel hydrated and refreshed ( although it tastes and smells disgusting)


DIY weightloss teas : 
#1

  • Take a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Lemon juice is loaded with vitamin C that has fat metabolism to reduce weight.
  • Mix this honey and lemon juice in a glass of lukewarm water
  • Drink this early in the morning with empty stomach.

 #2

  • 1 piece of ginger 
  • some cardamom seeds
  • 1 stick of cinamon
  • 5 mint leaves 
  • 1 tea spoon honey
  • 1 lemon 
  • 1-1/2 cup water 
  • Boil and drink at night.

#3

  • 2,5 liters water
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 oranges 
  • 1 lime 
  • 3tbsp apple cider viniger
  • 3tsp grated ginger
  • Ice ( Optional)
  • blend and drink .

Lets face it we have all had that moment where our swimming suits told us to go to the gym but our 
sweat pants were like nah girl you good. If only wearing sweat pants everywhere was acceptable. 
I know Its Ramadan and you have no energy to workout as well as that you are so hungry that you are the first one on the table and hoarding all the biggest samosas and pakoras before your siblings and not stopping even though you have a full plate that could feed the entire ethiopia.  Now let me tell you some rocket science here:  If you dont do any exercise , stuff your face with carbs and basically waste your entire day on the bed. So then what happens? *Gasp you gain weight. 
Here I have some tips and tricks that I tried which helped me shed pounds like a pro.

Tip#1 :
Turn your head to the left.
Turn your head to the right.
Rpeat this exercise whenever offered food.


Tip#2: Cardio
 If you hate exercising for long hours and want a quicker solution cardio is the answer. cardio is Basically getting your heart rate up and increases blood circulation in your body. Not only does it improve your metabolisim but its the quickest way to improve weight loss as well as that it targets areas where fat is vert stubborn for example : Stomach , hips and thighs. One of the best things to get your heart rate up is to jump rope. Its easy and is one of the most effecitve ways to loose weight as it uses almost every muscle in your body and by skipping just for 10 minutes you can loose upto 180-200 calories. If this is still too much for your lazy ass other "fun" ways include pillow fight , tag , or just annoying your siblings , hitting them and running away can also do a job ( but make sure you get your siblings annoyed at a next level so they doesnt stop after 2 minutes). 


Tip#3:

 I know its really hard to avoid food I mean sometimes after eating 2 packs or oreo I remember I am on diet. But I have a quick fix for that too. If you cant just controll your urge that one time you can perform 8-10 mins of intense cardio before eating carbs as your body will still be in the process of burning fat. Not only this but your hard work will also prove to be  a barrier in over eating as you wouldnt want to all that workout to go to waste. Another tip is to drink 2 glasses of water or eat 5 olives before your meal. this will make you eat less as it makes you feel fuller. You can loose upto 1.5 pounds per 2 weeks just by making this minor change in your eating habbit. 


Tip#4:                                          

Some times we tend to over eat and not realise it. Its usually because even though our stomach is full but our mouth is still hungry? One way to reduce over eating is chewing your food about 25-33 times .  
Slowly chewing your food rather than wolfing it down as quickly as possible lets you feel full faster; this of course is when you should stop eating. When you eat more slowly and chew your food, you may be surprised how much less food it takes to fill you up. It takes a little time for your food to reach your stomach and for this signal to make it back to the brain - when you eat quickly, you'll tend to overeat and end up wishing you'd stopped sooner. Not only is this not a good way to lose weight, but it will prevent the distress which comes with overdoing it.
        

Tip#5: pick a plate, any plate :
New research shows that people eat less if there is a higher contrast in colors between the plate and the food. For example, if you eat a light-colored food like pasta off of a dark blue plate, you will probably eat less than if you eat the pasta off of a white plate. This is probably because the portion looks larger on a darker plate because it stands out more than it does on a lighter plate, where it just blends in.Shape. A tall, narrow glass or bowl may hold the same amount of fluid as a short fat one, but research shows that people feel like they are getting more when they use the tall, narrow version. Try it and see if you skip seconds and end up eating less!

Congratulations If you have survived the season of breakups , stress induced anxiety , sleepless night 
and Exams. Now you obviously deserve to party and and you go all out while making plans with your friends only to be hit with the reality that your wallet is as empty as your soul.
